Thing 2 - Web/Library 2.0

I've been talking about many of the Web 2.0 tools for a couple years and I have become comfortable with some of them, but this is going to be a great opportunity to make a commitment to becoming more familiar with all of the tools. 

I tend to find a personal use for Web 2.0 tools and soon I am trying to find library or educational applications. I think this is true for the teachers that I work with also. In the K-12 setting there is always that concern of finding tools that are appropriate for use with children - blogs that can be password protected, photo storage sites that don't have adult content, etc. As librarians we need to be aware of the tools in general use and be ready to offer alternatives when teachers want to use blogs and Blogger may not be the best choice.

We have used EduBlogs and are taking a look at Saywire for use in schools.

I'm not going to find 15 minutes every day to work on this, but I know that I can find 15 minutes every few days.
